Authors such as Christopher Priest, Graham Joyce or Haruki Murakami – none of these author’s works (speculative fiction if you want to sort of categorise it) deal with your typical villain/megalomaniac characters. Sometimes it’s an entity or idea of something evil, or quite simply somebody with a broken and disturbed mind. I find this makes much more interesting than somebody that just wants to take over the world. Or when I look at my all-time favourite SF novel, The City and the Stars by Arthur C Clarke, there isn’t even a central villain as such, but independent machines and computers.Alex Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14990019898483025213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-244120370866689587.post-88557822675194839282014-05-24T09:24:23.639-07:002014-05-24T09:24:23.639-07:00And you write it so well, Georgia! And you write it so well, Georgia!Alice Sabohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15017512356886351379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-244120370866689587.post-29561265305095123602014-05-24T08:02:02.649-07:002014-05-24T08:02:02.649-07:00Well said, Alice. I do know daily trials and since those are the catalyst for most of man's inhumanity to man, I will write what I know.Georgia Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02385201859016332797noreply@blogger.com
